Instructions on how to use BlackR1an RC2 on a Mac or Windows

If you want to retain your unlock you must use [PwnageTool(Mac only)]  or download a [custom] firmware Windows and Mac. Enter DFU and restore. 3gs must enter recovery mode to work not DFU.

Tethered jailbreak for 3.1 OOTB ipt 8GB and new 3GSes
Fixed Icy issues
Both Windows and Mac
If you used RC1 with success, no need to rerun

Will work on the following devices

iPod Touch 1G, 2G and 3G Tethered*
iPhone 2G, 3G, 3Gs and the newer 3GS Tethered*

* Tethered mean you have to run blackra1n every time you reboot your device

Step 1

Windows

CONTROL + ALT + Delete and enter task manager

Force Quit iTunes and iTunes Helper and iPod Helper

Mac

Locate /Applications/Utilities/ Activity Monitor.app
Force Quit iTunes and iTunes Helper

Step 2

Windows

place Blackra1n.exe in c:/ and run as administrator

Mac

Launch Blackra1n.app

Step 3

Windows and Mac click on make it ra1n

Step 4

Windows and Mac wait to enter recovery

Step 5

Windows and Mac done wait for reboot

Step 6

Tap on blackra1n

Install the ones that you want by taping on them and when done wait for respring and enjoy you jailbroken iPhone or iTouch
